It is staffed, stocked and open every day of the month — for a newborn with pneumonia, a toddler with malaria, a child who needs a place to recover.
STEP 03
You hear what happened
Every month you receive a story from your bed — the children your support is helping, by name.
Both of these are treatable.
What takes children’s lives in Liberia is rarely the absence of a cure. It is the distance to one.
Malaria
In 2023, Africa was home to 94% of malaria cases (246 million) and 95% of malaria deaths (569,000). Children under 5 accounted for about 76% of all malaria deaths.
Malnutrition
Nearly half of all deaths among children in Liberia are linked to malnutrition — a reality that exists primarily in low-income developing countries.
$1,000 a month provides:
- Life-saving medical care for malnutrition, malaria, and other treatable diseases
- A bed and safe space for healing — ensuring no child is turned away
- Consistent prayer coverage and spiritual care
- Direct Gospel presentations and discipleship opportunities
In practice that means nurses on shift through the night, essential medicines and emergency care, therapeutic feeding, and the power, clean water and equipment that keep an 18,000-square-foot hospital running in West Africa.
At LIVE2540, healing goes beyond medicine. Every doctor, nurse and staff member serves as a missionary, praying for each child who comes through our doors.

Nearly every minute, a child under 5, like Theresa, dies of malaria.
We met Theresa in 2019, at a small bush clinic tucked deep in rural Liberia. By the time the long journey to ELWA Hospital was complete, it was too late. The malaria had spread to her brain and her body simply could no longer fight.
Six years has passed, but we never forgot Theresa.
Today that spark lives on in the Jesus Loves Me Children’s Center, a place where every bed is built for healing, for hope, and for second chances.
What a year in one bed looks like.
Grace
Grace was just one year and seven months old when she was admitted to our inpatient this past March. She came to us fragile and fighting, suffering from acute malnutrition, sepsis, and gastroenteritis. At the time of the first photo, she weighed just 10 pounds.
Then came the care she desperately needed. And slowly, transformation began. Today, Grace’s story is no longer about sickness, but about healing, strength, and hope.

Before you commit
What if I can’t give $1,000 a month on my own?
Beds are often shared. Churches, businesses, small groups and families split one bed between several givers and are credited together. Just ask us and we’ll set it up.
How will I know what my gift did?
Every month you’ll receive a story from your specific bed — a child who was admitted to it, what they came in with, and how they’re doing now. Over a year you’ll meet many of the children your support helped, by name.
How long am I committing for?
Bed sponsorship is ongoing — you give for as long as you would like to. We ask for a minimum of twelve months, because a hospital cannot staff a ward on uncertainty. That first year is what lets us hire nurses and order medicine against funding we know is there.
Most sponsors stay well past it. Several have now carried the same bed for years, and hundreds of children have passed through it in that time.
Does a child only get care if their bed is sponsored?
No. Every child who needs a bed is admitted and treated, sponsored or not. We have never turned a child away because a bed had no sponsor, and we never will.
What sponsorship changes is how that care is paid for. A bed costs the same to run either way — the nurses, the medicine, the food, the power. Sponsors carry those costs directly, which frees the rest of our funding to reach further and makes the ward sustainable year after year.
Is this a Christian program?
Yes. Every doctor, nurse and staff member at the Jesus Loves Me Children’s Center serves as a missionary, praying for each child who enters our doors. Your membership funds both physical and spiritual care — medicine and prayer, treatment and discipleship.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
