Every ten seconds, a child in West Africa dies...We’re here to change that. We’ve targeted one of the world's poorest, most broken healthcare systems, and we plan on investing 20 million dollars over the next ten years to provide healthcare for 500,000 children.  For many of those children, this will be a life-saving initiative.

Leading Causes of Death in West Africa

Malaria

Malaria continues to steadily swipe through Africa. In 2020 alone 627,000 people died of malaria, most of them children in Africa. Malaria is commonly spread through mosquitos infected by a parasite who then feed on humans. Fortunately, this is a very treatable disease, but if not treated quickly after infection could end up fatal, especially for malnourished children under five.

Malnutrition

Malnutrition is responsible for the death of 3.1 million children each year. Many are under the age of five. Liberia is in the top ten countries in the world with the most acute levels of childhood malnutrition. Nearly a quarter of all children under five struggle with malnutrition in Liberia.

Diarrheal Diseases

Diarrheal disease is currently the leading cause of death for children across the globe, one of the main threats being dehydration. This is mainly due to the lack of access to clean drinking water for over 780 million people. This disease, coupled with malnutrition, is harming far too many children.

In 2024, we will provide healthcare for over 50,000 children in West Africa.
